Although Pink is referring to a romantic relationship in her song, “Try” whenever I am participating in something challenging I think of the lyrics;
“You've gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try

For years, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the world of modeling and creative directing photoshoots. It was a passion of mine that encompassed everything from the exhilarating planning process to the meticulous execution, the art of editing, and finally, sharing the breathtaking results with the world.
However, as life unfolded, this creative outlet gradually took a backseat. It wasn't until my 37th birthday in February when I made a firm decision to reignite my love for modeling and photography.
Just a few weeks ago, as fate would have it, I stumbled upon an Instagram post from a modeling agency in Los Cabos, announcing a modeling workshop. Without hesitation, I reached out to them, expressing my eagerness to be a part of it. To my delight, they welcomed me with open arms.
As the workshop approached, a wave of nerves washed over me. It had been quite some time since I had practiced my craft, and the editorial style shoots typically sought models towering above five feet ten inches, a considerable distance from my petite frame of five feet two inches.
Yet, amidst the nervous energy, I found a moment of clarity. I reminded myself, "Lauren, you have the knowledge and training under your belt. You know exactly what it takes to execute a successful shoot today. You've got this!" With those empowering words, I shifted into high gear and unleashed my inner talent, leaving an indelible mark on the workshop.
The experience served as a powerful reminder that passion and dedication transcend any doubts or limitations. It reignited my love for the art of modeling and creative direction, fueling my determination to continue pursuing this path with renewed vigor.
So here's to embracing our passions, facing our fears head-on, and unleashing our true potential. The journey may have its moments of uncertainty, but when we believe in ourselves, anything is possible.
